Gillett Associates is a client-driven firm. Throughout our 60+ year history we have prided ourselves on delivering functional design solutions that meet a client’s requirements. Many design firms dictate design choices or try to enhance their reputation at the owner’s expense. History

1951 - Cuddie & O’Neill, Consulting Engineers founded by Robert Cuddie and James O’Neill in Detroit, Michigan. William Gillett is employed as a structural drafter and office manager.

1955 - Jim O’Neill leaves the firm and it is renamed Cuddie Engineers.

1960 - Robert Cuddie passes away. William Gillett becomes president of Cuddie Engineers.

1965 - Firm becomes Cuddie-Gillett Associates, Inc.

1970 - Firm is renamed Gillett Associates, Inc. Office is now located in Troy, Michigan.

1978 - Mark Hildebrandt joins the firm as project manager.

1990 - William Gillett retires. Mark Hildebrandt becomes President of the firm.

2009 - Company moves to current location in Farmington Hills.

Forty years experience total, thirty three years with Gillett Associates, Inc. in the capacities of President, Project Manager and Project Architect with responsibilities for field observation, contract drawings and specifications, and office management. The types of projects involved in include shopping centers, supermarkets, banks, medical clinics, restaurants, office and industrial buildings.

B.S., Architecture

Twenty eight years of experience total, including twenty years with Gillett Associates, Inc., five years with Giffels/Hoyem Basso Associates and three years with Construction Management Inc., a general contracting and design/build firm. LEED Accredited Professional since January 2005. Extensive experience in both full service and design/build projects. Responsibilities include Owners Representative Services, Project Management and Administration, Site Analysis, Field Observation, Design and Working Drawings. The types of projects involved include automotive, research, manufacturing, schools, restaurants/breweries, commercial and recreational uses.

B.S., Architecture

Nineteen years of experience total and seventeen years with Gillett Associates, Inc. Responsibilities vary based on project and have included, project coordination, organization of contract drawings, detailing, design, presentation drawings and CADD. The types of projects involved comprise expansion, reduction and/or new construction of manufacturing facilities, shop/office complex combination, fitness & health club and industrial buildings.
