Gillett Associates

Gillett Associates was selected to provide a new gymnasium with storage and additional classrooms, library and toilet facilities with barrier free access for a private non-sectarian school. Some features of the new addition include using large windows in the gym area to bring light into the space, the use of fiber cement siding in a nonresidential type use and incorporating the various building materials and elements around a pre-engineered structure. Design challenges included creating a uniform building that did not appear as though it was several additions through the use of complementary materials.
